Online Safety Information Session for Year 6
Last Friday, Matthew sent out a Schoolzine notification discussing some concerning and recent incidences involving messaging between Year 6 students using their personal technology outside of school hours. In response to this, we have organised for a Child Protection Officer from Catholic Education to come and talk to Year Six students about staying safe online. The Child Protection Officer will discuss some of the following areas with the Year Six students:
- How to stay safe online
- Cyberbullying
- Dealing with unwanted contact
- Sharing personal content
- Inappropriate and unsafe content
- Online footprint
- Safer online gaming
- Being safe on social media platforms
This discussion will take place next Wednesday morning from 9.30-10.30am. We are currently organising an opportunity for parents to discuss similar issues in the near future. We’ll inform you when this has been finalised. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns about this discussion.
Regards,
Rebekah Brown
