What Students are Learning About
Yesterday, both Year 4 classes participated in a class mass with Fr Chung. The mass was a celebration of our friends. The students prayed for friends and family and those who take care of them each day.
Friendship is not based just on words but on actions. There are true and false friendships. Friends care for each other and trust each other. With a friend you can be yourself and know you are accepted. The commandment of love is the basis of friendship.
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other. John 15:12-17

Catholic Life and Reflection
Those who pray only when they feel like it are like fair weather friends who are not true friends, but only come around when it’s easy or when they want something from you.
There is always and everywhere time for a short prayer, when you get up, when you have breakfast, a cup of tea, when you are walking down the street, when you go to sleep.
“I don’t think there is anyone who needs God’s help and grace as much as I do. Sometimes I feel so helpless and weak. Because I cannot depend on my own strength, I rely on him 24 hours a day. My secret is simple: I pray. I love to pray. The urge to pray is always in me. Prayer enlarges the heart until it is ready to receive God’s gift of himself. If you want to pray better, pray more.” St Teresa of Calcutta
I have enjoyed my time as acting REC this term. I send a heartfelt thank you to the Executive team, Debbie and Leanne for their wonderful support and friendship whilst I was learning a new and challenging role. I am in awe of their stamina and the work these amazing people do every day! I wish everyone a restful and rejuvenating holiday. I hope parents enjoy time with their children and create many happy memories.
