Fundraising

Thank you for all your support! Today was a wonderful celebration of our community being on earth the heart of God.  Year 6 ran the canteen.  We had many donations of food and clothes. 

What Students are Learning About.

Year Six have started their Saints project. A project where they are able to do my job and design a prayer liturgy that reflects their Saint. Finally, they have free reign in my RE room and they design a prayer space like I would. It always creates very interesting conversatations. For example… Mrs Stewart how can I write the birth and death date for St Michael the Archangel? Excellent question! I have no idea. 

Year 5 are looking at the Signs and Symbols of Confirmation as preparation for the Sacrament next year. Year One have learnt about different stories of the Old Testament including Noah and Jonah.

Catholic Life and Reflection

Well, 48 hrs of students inside due to rain definitely causes you to pray with earnest. 

Even though the days have been a bit long and the classroom a little stuffy, the joy of learning has not been decreased.  Mrs Love had the wonderful idea of finding playing cards.  In pairs the students played Go Fish and Snap and were thrilled!  Such a simple game had such a great impact.  They loved it and played during recess and lunch. 

So my message today is remember that sometimes simple and old fashioned is what you need, especially when you pray.  Not sure what to say?  Feeling tired and stuffy in your prayer routine? Go old school …an Our Father, Hail Mary or a decade of the Rosary might be just what you need.

A few games of Go Fish certainly helped Year Four.
